Principle of Operation

Flow Direction Below the Seat

As the medium is present under the swivel plate, the operating pressure contributes to the opening of the valve. This flow direction is used for liquid media, gases, and vapours.

Explosion Hazard in Potentially Explosive Atmospheres

If the device has an ATEX/IECEx approval (e.g., EPS 18 ATEX 2 008 X / IECEx EPS 18.0007 X), there is an explosion risk from electrostatic charging.

  • Take appropriate measures to ensure that no electrostatic charge can build up in the potentially explosive area.
  • Only wipe the device surfaces gently with a damp or antistatic cloth.
  • Ground the actuator and the valve body.
