BURKERT 20085887 Type 2101 Pneumatically Operated 2/2-Way Globe Valve

Burkert 20085887 Type 2101 pneumatically operated 2/2-way globe valve. Features DN15 NPT 1/2 connection, PTFE seat, stainless steel body, and ATEX/IECEx approval for 0-25 bar.

BURKERT 20085887 Type 2101 Pneumatically Operated 2/2-Way Globe Valve

The Burkert 20085887 Type 2101 pneumatically operated 2/2-way globe valve ELEMENT is specially optimised for decentralised process automation and meets practical requirements even under difficult operating conditions. This specific model features a DN15 internal thread NPT 1/2 connection, a stainless steel body, and a PTFE seat seal. It operates with control function A (normally closed) and is rated for pressures from 0 to 25 bar and medium temperatures from 0 °C to 160 °C.

Its unique design allows easy integration of automation units in all expansion stages, from electrical/optical position feedback to pneumatic control and integrated fieldbus interfaces. Maximum service life and tightness are achieved by the proven self-adjusting v-seal packing gland. The highly integrated system is characterised by its compact and smooth design, integrated pilot air ducts, IP65/67 and NEMA Type 4X protection classes, and high resistance to chemicals.

Control Functions

Control FunctionDescription
Control function A (CF A)Pneumatically operated 2/2-way on/off valve. Flow direction below seat. Normally closed by spring force.
Control function B (CF B)Pneumatically operated 2/2-way on/off valve. Flow direction below seat. Normally opened by spring force.
Control function I (CF I)Actuating function via reciprocal pressurisation.

WARNING

Risk of damage due to bursting pipes and bursting equipment when the flow is above the seat. In the case of liquid mediums, water hammer can occur causing pipes and the device to burst. Do not use valves with flow above the seat for liquid mediums.

Flow Direction Below Seat

Depending on the variant, the valve is closed against the medium flow either with spring force (control function A, CFA) or pilot pressure (control function B or I, CFB or CFI). As the medium is present under the swivel plate, the operating pressure contributes to the opening of the valve.

Flow Direction Above Seat

The valve is closed with the medium flow via spring force (control function A, CFA). Because the operating pressure is above the swivel plate, it helps the valve close and also contributes to sealing the valve seat. The valve opens via pilot pressure.

Installation Notes

DANGER

Risk of injury due to high pressure in the system or device. Before working on the system or device, switch off the pressure and ventilate or empty the lines.

  • The installation location must be easily accessible and provide sufficient clearance for installation, removal, and maintenance of the device.
  • Only lift heavy valves by the valve body and pneumatic actuator, not by the control unit.
  • Ensure that the pipes are aligned before connecting the valve.
  • Observe the direction of flow. Observe the information on the type label.
  • The globe valve can be installed in any position, preferably with the actuator facing upwards.

TIP

Turning the Actuator The position of the ports can be seamlessly aligned by turning the actuator 360°. When turning the actuator, the valve must be in the open position to prevent damage to the seat seal or seat contour.
