BURKERT 20095089 Type 2101 2/2-Way Pneumatic Globe Valve

Burkert 20095089 Type 2101 pneumatically operated 2/2-way globe valve. Features stainless steel flange body (DN20), PPS actuator, PTFE seal, and ATEX/IECEx approvals for 0-40 bar applications.

BURKERT 20095089 Type 2101 2/2-Way Pneumatic Globe Valve

Burkert 20095089 Type 2101 pneumatically operated 2/2-way globe valve is specially optimised for decentralised process automation and meets practical requirements even under difficult operating conditions. Its unique design allows easy integration of automation units in all expansion stages, from electrical/optical position feedback to pneumatic control and integrated fieldbus interface. Maximum service life and tightness are achieved by the proven self-adjusting v-seal packing gland. The highly integrated system of valve and automation unit is characterised by its compact and smooth design, integrated pilot air ducts, protection classes IP65/67, NEMA Type 4X, and high resistance to chemicals.

Features

  • Compact design: Highly integrated system of valve and automation unit.
  • Long service life: High seal tightness due to self-adjusting packing glands (spindle seal element) and high seat tightness due to swivel plate.
  • Easy integration: Seamlessly rotatable actuator (360°) for easy alignment of pilot air ports.
  • Robust construction: Stainless steel valve body with flange connection and PPS actuator.
  • Approvals: ATEX/IECEx certified for potentially explosive atmospheres, Hydrogen ready, and CIP/SIP capable.

Structure and Function

The globe valve consists of a pneumatically actuated piston actuator and a 2-way body. The actuator for this model is made from polyphenylene sulphide (PPS).

Control Function A (CFA)

The 20095089 model operates with Control Function A (CFA): Pneumatically operated 2/2-way on/off valve, normally closed by spring force.

Flow Direction Below Seat

Depending on the variant, the valve is closed against the medium flow with spring force (CFA). As the medium is present under the swivel plate, the operating pressure contributes to the opening of the valve.

WARNING

Valve leak if there is too little minimum pilot pressure or high operating pressure! Failing to meet the permitted operating pressure can cause a leak in the valve seat. Adhere to minimum pilot pressure and do not exceed the operating pressure.

Safety and Installation

DANGER

Risk of injury from high pressure in the system or device. Before working on the system or device, switch off the pressure and ventilate or empty the lines.

ATEX/IECEx Grounding

For devices operated in potentially explosive areas (ATEX/IECEx):

  1. Ground the valve body to the pipeline system using a conductive connection.
  2. Ground conductive components individually. Install a grounding strap clip or grounding terminal if not pre-installed.

Installation Notes

  • The installation location must be easily accessible and provide sufficient clearance for installation, removal, and maintenance.
  • The globe valve can be installed in any position, preferably with the actuator facing upwards.
  • Clear impurities from pipelines (seal material, metal chips, etc.) before installation.
  • Observe the direction of flow as indicated on the type label.
