Product Overview
Spirax Sarco DF1 Diffuser is a compact noise reduction accessory designed for steam or air trap outlets discharging to atmosphere. By buffering high-velocity discharge fluid, it effectively reduces noise and erosion damage during discharge. Sound intensity levels can be reduced by over 80% when measured at 1 meter from the discharge point.
This product is suitable for various types of trap outlets, including blast discharge traps, balanced pressure traps, inverted bucket traps, and thermodynamic traps, widely matching steam trap system requirements in industrial applications.

This product fully complies with European Pressure Equipment Directive 97/23/EC, meeting industrial equipment safety operation requirements.
Application Limitations
- Maximum pressure rating for compatible traps is PN63
- Only suitable for direct discharge scenarios at steam or air trap outlets

Installation Instructions
Installation Requirements
- The diffuser must be installed at the outlet of steam or air traps using suitable pipe fittings.
- Ensure condensate discharges to ground or a safe enclosed container to avoid fluid splashing hazards.
- The outlet must be a maximum of 100mm from ground level and must discharge vertically downward.
- Confirm trap pressure rating does not exceed PN63 before installation to avoid overpressure operation.
