The Spirax Sarco M16Vi and M16Si ISO ball valve series are stainless steel isolating ball valves for steam and industrial fluids, featuring integral ISO mounting, lockable lever operation, full-bore and reduced-bore options, and serviceability without removal from the pipeline.

Spirax Sarco M16Vi ISO Ball Valve

Description

The M16Vi and M16Si ISO ball valve series are designed for use as isolating valves on steam and other industrial fluids. The valves are fitted with a lockable handle as standard and can be serviced without removal from the pipeline.

ISO mounting

The integral ISO body mounting allows the valve to be automated without losing sealing integrity, as the body does not require disassembly. Manual to remote control may therefore be easily accomplished using the ISO range of actuators.

Available types

  • M16Vi4: ISO stainless steel body, PTFE seat
  • M16Si4: ISO stainless steel body, reinforced PTFE seat

Standards

This product fully complies with the requirements of the EU Pressure Equipment Directive (PED) and UK Pressure Equipment (Safety) Regulations (PER).

Operation by pneumatic actuator BVA300 series for all sizes.

Size and pipe connections

  • BSP screwed and BW butt weld
  • Reduced bore: 1/2", 3/4", 1", 1 1/4", 1 1/2", 2"
  • Full bore: 3/8", 1/2", 3/4", 1", 1 1/4", 1 1/2"
  • Chinese source also lists PN16 flanged versions from DN10 to DN50 depending on bore

Installation notes

  • Valves with threaded BSP connections are supplied assembled and ready to install.
  • Valves with welding BW connections are supplied disassembled in a box after testing.
  • Install the valve with the handle in a suitable position.
  • For gas service, the valve can be installed in any position.
  • Do not mount the valve upside down for liquid service.

When used on steam services:

  1. Fit a trapped drain pocket upstream of the valve.
  2. Open the valve slowly to prevent the risk of waterhammer damage.
