Swagelok SS-XSS4-1 excess flow valve in 316 stainless steel with 1/4 in. tube fittings. Features a 1 gal/min (3.8 L/min) spring trip range to prevent uncontrolled system media release.

Swagelok SS-XSS4-1 is a 316 stainless steel excess flow valve designed to protect systems by stopping the uncontrolled release of media in the event of a downstream line rupture. This valve features 1/4 inch Swagelok tube fitting connections and is equipped with a 1 gal/min (3.8 L/min) spring trip range.
The excess flow valve utilizes a slotted poppet mechanism. During normal operation, the poppet remains open. When an excess flow condition occurs downstream—such as a line break—the poppet moves to the tripped position to restrict flow. The valve automatically resets once the system pressure equalizes across the poppet.
