TLV PT3 Pocket TrapMan® diagnostic instrument. Inspects steam traps, valves, and bearings. Measures ultrasonic sound and surface temperature (-40 to 350°C).

TLV PT3 Pocket TrapMan® is a pocket-size diagnostic instrument designed for the rapid and accurate inspection of steam traps, valves, and bearings. By measuring high-frequency ultrasonic sound and surface temperature simultaneously, it detects leaks, blockages, and mechanical wear that are otherwise imperceptible to human senses. The instrument features a rugged IP54 housing, explosion-proof certification for hazardous areas, and Bluetooth connectivity for seamless data management via the CMRecorder mobile application.
Generation of Ultrasonic Sound (Steam Traps and Valves) When fluid leaks through the seat of a steam trap or valve, it emits high-frequency ultrasonic sound. Because this sound is generated by leak volumes too small to be noticed by human perception, ultrasonic monitoring enables the early detection of deteriorated equipment.

Ultrasonic Shock Pulse Generation (Bearings) Shock pulses are generated when metals collide, such as race contact in bearings due to insufficient lubrication or wear. The PT3 measures the intensity of these shock pulses to determine the operational condition of the bearing.

Surface Temperature Measurement The device measures surface temperature and ultrasonic sound simultaneously. Temperature data is essential for detecting blockages in steam traps and assessing bearing conditions.

Temperature Restrictions
The allowable surface temperature range is -40 to 350 °C. Exceeding 350 °C may damage the probe tip or internal components. The device will flash rapidly and display "OVER" if this limit is exceeded.

Safety in Hazardous Areas
DO NOT replace or charge the battery in hazardous areas. Use only explosion-proof certified Bluetooth earphones when operating in hazardous locations. Failure to observe these precautions may result in explosion, fire, or injury.
Certain steam traps cannot be accurately evaluated due to their operational conditions. The device is not recommended for:
