Yoshitake TA-16L Air Vent Valve

Yoshitake TA-16L air vent valve features a compact stainless steel body, brass L-shaped hose joint, and fluororubber valve disc for cold and hot water up to 90°C (0.01-1.0 MPa).

Yoshitake TA-16L Air Vent Valve

Yoshitake TA-16L is a compact air vent valve suitable for building equipment, industrial equipment, and building complexes. It is designed to automatically discharge air from cold and hot water systems, preventing issues such as decline in heat-effectiveness, noise production, or equipment corrosion.

Features

  • All parts, except for the valve disc, gasket, and L-shaped hose joint, are made of stainless steel, offering high resistance to corrosion and durability.
  • Wide working pressure range (0.01 to 1.0 MPa) ensures a stable exhaust capacity.
  • Can be installed in small spaces due to its compact body design.
  • Reliable sealing with a fluororubber (FKM) valve disc to prevent leakage.

Operational Description

Yoshitake TA-16L operational states

  1. After installation, air exists in the product, and the float is lowered by its own weight. The valve disc is kept open by the lever, and air is discharged outside by the internal pressure of the system.
  2. When air is discharged, water flows into the product to make the float come up on buoyancy, and the force that keeps the valve disc open is lost. The valve disc is then closed by the spring and system pressure.
  3. When air bubbles are generated in the system and collect in the product, the inside water level drops, the float loses buoyancy, and opens the valve disc to discharge air.
  4. The operation then repeats steps 2 and 3 to continuously remove air from the system.

Installation and Piping

Installation Precautions

  • Remove foreign matter and scales from the lines and install the valve vertically (tolerance angle 5°) where air is likely to gather.
  • Install a stop valve (cock or gate valve) at the inlet side for maintenance and inspection.
  • Make sure to attach a joint and hose to the outlet of the product and lead them to a drain ditch, ensuring the end of the piping/tube has a space of 50mm over the flood level to prevent backflow.
  • Do not touch the product with bare hands when handling high-temperature fluids.

Maintenance and Inspection

Initial Operation

A small amount of water may blow out with air during the initial air discharge operation. This is normal and not a failure.

Daily and Periodic Inspection

  • Daily: Check that air is venting properly (valve is closed when no air is inside) and inspect visually for valve seat or external leakage.
  • Yearly: Disassemble and visually check the valve disc and seat gasket. Clean any scale or dust, and replace damaged parts. Inspect the float for damage or deformation.
  • Periodic Replacement: It is recommended to replace the Valve Disc assembly every 3 years and the Gasket every 5 years.

Troubleshooting

TroubleCauseRemedy
No air discharge1. Stop valve on inlet side is closed.
2. Internal piping pressure exceeds appropriate value.
3. Air accumulates too slowly.
1. Open stop valve fully.
2. Lower internal pressure or replace valve with a high-pressure model.
3. Install valve where air easily accumulates.
Water blowout from outlet1. Foreign substances on valve disc and seat.
2. Float is damaged.
1. Remove and clean valve disc and seat.
2. Replace the float.
External leakage1. Damage or deformation of body/cover from abnormal pressure.
2. Gasket is damaged.
1. Replace the product.
2. Replace the gasket.

Optional Parts

The exhaust outlet of the air vent valve can be equipped with various optional piping connection parts (made of brass), such as an L-shaped hose joint (standard on TA-16L), manual valves with copper/hose joints, and swivel joints capable of turning 360 degrees.
