BURKERT Type 8652 AirLINE valve island optimised for process automation. Features up to 24 valve slots, LC display diagnostics, AirLINE Quick mounting, and ATEX/IECEx Zone 2 approvals.

The BURKERT Type 8652 AirLINE valve island has been especially developed for process automation requirements. Diagnostic functions can be visualised on the LC display in clear text and symbols, which simplifies the assignment of messages and saves time during start-up and maintenance. The diagnostic messages are also available at the controller to enable a fast overview of the plant status. The hardware is optimised for installation at the bottom of the control cabinet, and installation on a standard rail is also supported. Key pneumatic functions ensure increased process reliability, such as check valves in the exhaust air ducts that prevent unplanned actuation due to pressure peaks.

AirLINE Quick considerably reduces the use of components in the control cabinet. With the AirLINE Quick Adapter, the valve terminal is adapted directly to the control cabinet floor or control cabinet wall. This reduces space requirements and installation effort due to hose connections directly at the bottom of the control cabinet.

To use the Hot Swap function, always observe a minimum distance to the front edge of the control cabinet when installing the valve island inside the control cabinet.

The digital inputs are supplied (24 V) by the electronic module. Current is limited to maximum 30 mA per digital input. Standard 3-wire sensors and 2-wire sensors with voltages between 10 and 30 V as well as mechanical limit switches can be used. The module provides open-circuit detection with 2-wire sensors and short-circuit detection with 3-wire sensors.
Type 6534 valves are equipped with additional connection terminals. A valve circuit can therefore be interrupted by an external switch. Manual override is not required for these valve variants. To use the shut-off function, connect the terminal to a potential-free contact (mechanical switch or relay).
The following illustration shows a network with the example of AirLINE Type 8652 with Industrial Ethernet variant (PROFINET IO, EtherNet/IP, Modbus TCP, EtherCAT, CC-Link IE Field Basic) as master valve terminal and various AirLINE Type 8652 with büS variant as slave valve terminals.

Danger caused by voltage
Before working on the device or system, disconnect the power supply. Secure against reactivation. In a potentially explosive atmosphere, connection terminals for 24 V power supply, SIA, EVS, and digital inputs may only be plugged in or unplugged when de-energized.
Danger of explosion due to electrostatic charge
If there is a sudden discharge from electrostatically charged devices or persons, there is a danger of explosion in the potentially explosive area. Take appropriate measures to ensure that no electrostatic charges can occur in the potentially explosive area.
Hot Swap Restrictions
The use of the hot swap function is prohibited in a potentially explosive atmosphere. If it can be proven and ensured by means of suitable test equipment that there is no explosive atmosphere for a certain period of time, the removal/insertion of valves by means of hot swap is permitted during this period.
