Control Functions

WARNING

Risk of damage due to bursting pipes and bursting equipment when the flow is above the seat. In the case of liquid mediums, water hammer can occur causing pipes and the device to burst. Do not use valves with flow above the seat for liquid mediums.

Explosion Hazard due to Electrostatic Discharge!

If statically charged devices or persons discharge suddenly, there is a risk of explosion in the potentially explosive area.

  • Take appropriate measures to ensure that electrostatic charges cannot build up in the potentially explosive area.
  • Only clean the device surface by wiping gently with a damp or anti-static cloth.
  • Ground the actuator and valve body.

Device Grounding:

  1. Ground the valve body: To establish potential equalization, ground the valve body to the piping system using a conductive connection.
  2. Exposed metal parts: Metal parts not integrated into the valve's potential equalization (PA) must be incorporated into the PA by the customer via an additional PA connection.
  3. Ground conductive parts: Conductive parts must be grounded separately. Install a grounding strap clip or grounding terminal as shown below and ground via a grounding point.
