BURKERT Type 8640 modular valve island (Model 20047400) for pneumatics. Features 19mm width per station, G 1/4 pressure port, 2-10 bar pressure range, and IP20 protection.

BURKERT Type 8640 modular valve island system is designed to solve diverse and complex control problems due to its systematic modular construction and combination of pneumatic and electrical interfaces. By putting together a row of pneumatic modules with different numbers of valves, 2 to 24 valve functionalities may be realized on one valve unit. Electrical connectivity is achieved by either fieldbus interfaces, common connection (parallel connection technique) or multipin interfaces. The valves allow different applications to be covered. Bodies and connection modules are made of high-quality plastic (polyamide) and are easy to assemble by means of the built-in snap connectors.

AirLINE Quick considerably reduces the use of components in the control cabinet. With the AirLINE Quick Adapter, the valve terminal is adapted directly to the control cabinet floor or control cabinet wall.

Note
The valves of Type 0460 cannot be installed with AirLINE Quick due to their size.
Advantages:
| Symbol | Description |
|---|---|
| C (CF C) | 3/2-way solenoid valve. Servo-controlled, with manual override. Normally closed. |
| C (CF C) | 2 × 3/2-way solenoid valve. Servo-controlled, with manual override. Normally closed. |
| D (CF D) | 3/2-way solenoid valve. Servo-controlled, with manual override. Normally open. |
| H (CF H) | 5/2-way solenoid valve. Servo-controlled, with manual override. Pressure applied via port (1), therefore one of the two ports (2) or (4) is under pressure. |
| L (CF L) | 5/3-way solenoid valve. With manual override. In middle position all ports locked. |
| N (CF N) | 5/3-way solenoid valve. With manual override. In middle position ports 2 and 4 exhausted. |
| Z (CF Z) | 5/2-way solenoid valve. Impulse variant with 2 coils and manual override. Pressure applied via port (1), therefore one of the two ports (2) or (4) is under pressure. |

WARNING
Risk of injury from quickly accelerating device parts and unconnected compressed air hoses flapping around. ▶ Before applying pressure to the valve, check all hose connections and fittings for tight, secure fit.
Observe the following tightening torques when screwing into the port connections. The specified tightening torque may vary depending on the sealing system.
| Port size | Marking/function | Recommended tightening torque [Nm] | Maximum tightening torque [Nm] |
|---|---|---|---|
| G1/4, NPT1/4 | P, R/S connection | 4...7 | 20 |
| G1/8, NPT1/8 | P, R/S connection A/B valve outlets | 3...6 | 7 |
Our push-in connectors meet the requirements specified in the ISO 14743:2020 standard. Ensure that the appropriate combination of hose material (polyamide or polyurethane) and push-in connector is used, as different materials require different holding forces. Press the hose into the push-in connector with sufficient force. The hose must be inserted deep enough into the push-in connector so that it is held correctly by the claws.
