BURKERT Type 6213 EV is a servo-assisted 2/2-way diaphragm valve. The spring coupling of the diaphragm supports the opening process in the valve. In its standard variant, the valve is suitable for deployment with liquids. A minimum differential pressure is required for full opening. For gas and vacuum applications, a special variant is available (HP00) that opens the valve without differential pressure. Various diaphragm materials are available depending on the actual application. The body is available in brass, stainless steel, and gunmetal. To reduce electrical power consumption during operation, coils with integrated Kick-and-Drop (KD) electronics featuring double coil technology are available.

Installation

DANGER!

  • Before loosening lines or valves, switch off the pressure and vent the lines.

  • Installation must be carried out by authorised technicians only and with the appropriate tools.

Risk of injury from unintentional activation of the system and uncontrolled restart

  • Secure the system against unintentional activation.
  • Ensure a controlled restart after installation.

Before Installation

  • Installation position: Any, preferably with actuator on top.
  • Clean pipelines of any contamination.
  • Install a dirt trap upstream of the valve inlet (≤ 500 µm).

Installation Steps

NOTICE!

Breaking hazard

  • Do not use the solenoid as a lever arm.
  • Hold the device on the body using an open-end wrench and screw into the pipeline.
  • Observe the flow direction: the arrow on the body indicates the flow direction.

Electrical Connection of Cable Plug

  1. Screw cable plug tight (for approved types see data sheet), ensuring a maximum torque of 1 Nm.
  2. Check that the valve seal is correctly seated.
  3. Connect protective conductor and check electrical continuity between solenoid and body.
  4. Observe the voltage and current type according to the type label.

Maintenance and Troubleshooting

  • Maintenance may be carried out by authorised technicians only and with the appropriate tools.

Overheating, risk of fire

  • Connecting the solenoid without a pre-installed valve will cause overheating and destroy the solenoid.
  • Only connect the solenoid after the valve has been installed.

Solenoid Installation

  1. Slide solenoid housing onto core guide tube.
  2. Screw solenoid with nut. Observe tightening torques (AC10: 5 Nm, AC19: 10 Nm).
  3. Always tighten nut with an open-end wrench. Using other tools may damage the device.
  4. Check protective conductor.

Troubleshooting

If faults occur, check whether:

  • The device is installed according to regulations and the electrical and fluid connections are properly executed.
  • The device is not damaged.
  • All screws have been tightened.
  • Voltage and pressure have been applied.
  • The pipelines are clean.

Valve does not actuate

  • Short circuit or solenoid interrupted.
  • Core or core area contaminated.
  • Operating pressure outside the permitted pressure range.

Valve does not close

  • Interior of the valve contaminated.
  • Small control bore in diaphragm blocked.
  • Valve opened by manual override.
