BURKERT 20061043 Type 8647 AirLINE SP Electropneumatic Automation System

Burkert Type 8647 AirLINE SP is a modular electropneumatic automation system for direct connection to SIMATIC ET 200SP and ET 200SP HA. Features LC display and safety-related shut-off.

BURKERT 20061043 Type 8647 AirLINE SP Electropneumatic Automation System

Burkert Type 8647 AirLINE SP is a modular, electropneumatic automation system consisting of connection and valve modules. It has been especially developed for safe and complete integration into the decentralised peripheral systems "SIMATIC ET 200SP" and "SIMATIC ET 200SP HA" from Siemens. Pneumatically operated process valves, pneumatic cylinders, or other pneumatic components can be connected to the pneumatic outputs. If the pneumatic components are installed with position feedbacks, the position of the actuated pneumatic components can be displayed on the associated pilot valve, saving time on start-up and maintenance.

The valve block and the electronic modules of SIMATIC ET 200SP / SIMATIC ET 200SP HA provide numerous features, including extensive configuration options and diagnostics capabilities. Optionally, valve groups can be switched off by an external, potential-free switching contact to implement control concepts like "Central system off".

System Overview

Combining modules from the distributed Siemens I/O systems with the valve block AirLINE SP Type 8647 provides an integrated system of electronic and pneumatic components.

Connection Units

The pneumatic supply and deaeration of the valve block occurs via connection units. Furthermore, the valve block is fixed to the standard rail via the connection units. Connection units can be optionally equipped with a pressure gauge or electronic pressure sensor.

Valve Units

Valve units convert the electrical control signals of the interface module into pneumatic output signals and provide the pneumatic outputs. There are valve units with four valve slots or with eight valve slots.

Pilot Solenoid Valves

The valve block integrates various pilot valves:

  • Type 6524 and Type 6525: The pilot valve Type 6524 (single and double valve) and Type 6525 (single valve) consist of a pilot flipper solenoid valve Type 6144 and a pneumatic seat valve. The circuit function allows switching of high pressures with low power consumption and short switching times.
  • Type 0460: Consists of a pneumatic valve body fitted with a double coil pilot valve. The valves offer the functions 5/2-way pulse as well as 5/3-way and are equipped with manual override as standard.

AirLINE Quick

AirLINE Quick considerably reduces the use of components in the control cabinet. With the AirLINE Quick Adapter, the valve terminal is adapted directly to the control cabinet floor or control cabinet wall.

  • Reduced space requirement in the control cabinet.
  • Reduced installation effort due to hose connections directly at the bottom of the control cabinet.

The electrical shutdown of valve Types 6524 and 6525 causes them to return to the rest position. The selection of the appropriate circuit function of the valve depends on the application and is the responsibility of the user.

DANGER

Using manual override to operate valves overrides the electrical shutdown. Either use valve variants without manual override or protect the manual override against unintentional adjustment.

System setup with the F-PM-E power module

If a valve block Type 8647 is operated in the potential group of an F-PM-E 24VDC/8A PPM ST power module of the ET 200SP, the load voltage of the valve block can be shut down by the power module for safety reasons. Valves of Types 6524 and 6525 return to their rest position.
