Burkert Type 8647 AirLINE SP is a modular electropneumatic valve island designed for direct integration into Siemens SIMATIC ET 200SP and ET 200SP HA systems. Features LC display diagnostics and safety-related shut-off.

Burkert Type 8647 AirLINE SP is a modular, electropneumatic automation system consisting of connection and valve modules. It has been especially developed for safe and complete integration into the decentralised peripheral systems "SIMATIC ET 200SP" and "SIMATIC ET 200SP HA" from Siemens. Pneumatically operated process valves, pneumatic cylinders, or other pneumatic components can be connected to the pneumatic outputs. If the pneumatic components are installed with position feedbacks, the position of the actuated pneumatic components can be displayed on the associated pilot valve via the LC display. This can save time on start-up and maintenance.

The valve block and the electronic modules of SIMATIC ET 200SP / SIMATIC ET 200SP HA provide numerous features, including extensive configuration options and diagnostics capabilities. Optionally, valve groups can be switched off by an external, potential-free switching contact to implement control concepts like "Central system off".

Combining modules from the distributed Siemens I/O systems SIMATIC ET 200SP / SP HA with the valve block AirLINE SP Type 8647 provides an integrated system of electronic and pneumatic components.

The pneumatic supply and deaeration of the valve block occurs via connection units. Furthermore, the valve block is fixed to the standard rail via the connection units. Connection units can be optionally equipped with a pressure gauge or electronic pressure sensor. At the variant with an electronic pressure sensor, the measured supply pressure is provided as an analog value via ET 200SP.

Valve units convert the electrical control signals of the interface module into pneumatic output signals and provide the pneumatic outputs. There are valve units with four valve slots (4-slot valve unit) or with eight valve slots (8-slot valve unit). Valve units consist of an electronic base module, a pneumatic base module, and the valves themselves.
Electronic Base Module (PQ module): Contains the electrical plug-in connections for the valves, the valve driving electronics, and the visual status indicators (LEDs for displaying the device status and a graphics LCD).
Pneumatic Base Module: Supports the valves, ensures the pneumatic supply and deaeration of the valves, and provides the pneumatic outputs.
Type 6524 is a 3/2-way valve or a 2x3/2-way valve. Type 6525 is a 5/2-way valve. The valves consist of a flipper solenoid valve as the pilot control and a pneumatic seat valve as the amplifier. They are monostable and equipped as standard with manual override. The circuit function allows switching of high pressures with low power consumption and short switching times.
The Type 0460 valve consists of two pilot solenoid valves and one pneumatic slide valve. The active principle enables the switching of higher pressures at lower power consumption and short switching times. The valves offer the functions 5/2-way pulse as well as 5/3-way and are equipped with manual override as standard.

AirLINE Quick considerably reduces the use of components in the control cabinet. With the AirLINE Quick Adapter, the valve terminal is adapted directly to the control cabinet floor or control cabinet wall.

Safety-Related Shut-off
The electrical shutdown of valve Types 6524 and 6525 causes them to return to the rest position. The selection of the appropriate circuit function of the valve depends on the application and is the responsibility of the user. To avoid brief back pressures in the event of a safety shutdown, the use of valve blocks with integrated check valves is strongly recommended.
For safety-related applications, the device can be shut down using different variants:
