BURKERT 20081390 Type 8640 modular valve island for pneumatics. Features 11 mm width per station, 8x 5/2 valve function H, G 1/4 pressure port, and IP20 multi-pole connection.

BURKERT 20081390 Type 8640 Modular Valve Island for Pneumatics, 11 mm, Multi-pole

BURKERT 20081390 Type 8640 modular valve island for pneumatics is designed to solve diverse and complex control problems due to its systematic modular construction and combination of pneumatic and electrical interfaces. By putting together a row of pneumatic modules with different numbers of valves, 2 to 24 valve functionalities may be realized on one valve unit. The 20081390 configuration features an 11 mm width per station, 8x 5/2-way valve function H, a G 1/4 pressure port, and a multi-pole electrical connection.

Bodies and connection modules are made of high-quality plastic (polyamide) and are easy to assemble by means of the built-in snap connectors.

Installation

DANGER!

Risk of injury due to high pressure and escaping medium.

  • Switch off the pressure before working on the device or system. Vent or drain the pipes.

Risk of injury due to electric shock.

  • Switch off voltage before working on the device or system. Secure against reactivation.
  • Observe any applicable accident prevention and safety regulations for electrical devices.

Valve Block Installation

BURKERT 20081390 Type 8640 mounting the valve block

Standard rail installation

  • Hook the valve block with the upper groove into the standard rail (Standard rail 35 x 15 or 35 x 7.5 EN 50022).
  • Snap the lower clamping pieces into the standard rail.
  • Tighten the screws on the clamping pieces.

Wall installation

  • Fasten the valve block directly to the wall with M4 screws.

Pneumatic Installation

Recommended action for push-in connectors

  • Use suitable materials: Ensure that the appropriate combination of hose material (polyamide or polyurethane) and push-in connector is used.
  • Check the hose size: Ensure that the outer diameter of the hose matches the specification of the push-in connector.
  • Cut the hose correctly: Cut the hose straight. Cutting it diagonally adversely affects the holding force.
  • Insert the hose correctly: Press the hose into the push-in connector with sufficient force. The hose must be inserted deep enough into the push-in connector so that it is held correctly by the claws.
