Burkert Type 8652 AirLINE valve island has been especially developed for process automation requirements. New diagnostic functions can be visualised on the LC display, both in clear text as well as symbols. This makes it easy to relate to the shown messages and helps to save time during start-up and maintenance. Furthermore, the diagnostic message is also available at the controller, enabling a fast overview of the plant status.

The hardware is optimised for installation at the bottom of the control cabinet. Installation on a standard rail is also possible. Key pneumatic functions ensure increased process reliability, such as check valves in the exhaust air ducts that prevent unplanned actuation due to pressure peaks.

AirLINE Quick

AirLINE Quick considerably reduces the use of components in the control cabinet. With the AirLINE Quick Adapter, the valve terminal is adapted directly to the control cabinet floor or control cabinet wall.

Advantages:

• Reduced space requirement in the control cabinet
• Makes it possible to use more compact control cabinets
• Reduced installation effort due to hose connections directly at the bottom of the control cabinet

Circuit Functions

The Type 8652 supports various standard circuit functions (CF) including:

• CF C: 3/2-way solenoid valve, normally closed
• CF D: 2 × 3/2-way solenoid valve, normally open
• CF H: 5/2-way solenoid valve
• CF L: 5/3-way solenoid valve, all ports locked in middle position
• CF M: 5/3-way solenoid valve, ports 2 and 4 ventilated in middle position
• CF N: 5/3-way solenoid valve, ports 2 and 4 exhausted in middle position
• CF Z: 5/2-way solenoid valve, impulse variant with 2 coils

SIA Variant

A special SIA variant is available for safety-related shut-off. These valves (Type 6534) are equipped with additional connection terminals, allowing a valve circuit to be interrupted by an external switch. Manual override is not required for these valve variants.

Product Connections

Power Supply for Communication and Displays

Connect the 5-pin spring-loaded terminal according to the pin assignment (24 V DC, CAN_H, SHIELDING, CAN_L, GND). Possible cable cross-section: ≤ 1.5 mm².

Power Supply for Pneumatic Valves

The interface plate has a 2-pin spring-loaded terminal to which the pneumatic valves’ power supply is connected (AUX 24 V, GND).

Fieldbus Interface

For PROFIBUS DPV1 (as configured in SKU 20086194), a 9-pin D-Sub socket is utilized. Other available interfaces include Industrial Ethernet (PROFINET IO, EtherNet/IP, Modbus TCP, EtherCAT, CC-Link IE Field Basic) via RJ45, and CANopen/büS.

Product Installation

To use the Hot Swap function, always observe a minimum distance to the front edge of the control cabinet when installing the valve island inside the control cabinet.

WARNING

For installations in hazardous areas (Ex zones), the control cabinet must be approved for use in hazardous areas and sized sufficiently to dissipate heat. The internal temperature must not exceed the maximum permitted ambient temperature of the device.
