BURKERT 20108766 Type 2933 2/2-Way Diaphragm Valve, Manually Operated

Burkert Type 2933 (SKU 20108766) 2/2-way manually operated diaphragm valve. Features DN 15 welded connection, advanced PTFE/EPDM diaphragm, and stainless steel tube body for up to 10 bar.

BURKERT 20108766 Type 2933 2/2-Way Diaphragm Valve, Manually Operated

Burkert Type 2933 (SKU 20108766) is a 2/2-way diaphragm valve with a manually operated actuator. The manual actuator with a plastic handwheel is available with a diaphragm bonnet made of stainless steel or plastic and ensures reliable use in hygienic or aggressive ambient conditions. The flow-optimised tube valve body (VP) with minimum dead space enables high flow values and a wide range of possible applications. This specific model features a DN 15 welded connection, an advanced PTFE diaphragm with an EPDM backing membrane, and a stainless steel tube body (316L/1.4435 BN2) suitable for medium pressures up to 10 bar and temperatures from -5 °C to 143 °C.

Approvals and Conformities

This valve configuration complies with major industry standards, including ATEX / IECEx (II 2 G Ex h IIC T4...T2 Gb / II 2 D Ex h IIIC T135°C...T300°C Db) for use in potentially explosive atmospheres (Zones 1/21 and 2/22). The advanced PTFE/EPDM diaphragm is compliant with FDA, USP Class VI, and EC Regulation 1935/2004 for food, beverage, and pharmaceutical applications.

Materials

The materials used in the Type 2933 valve are selected for durability and chemical resistance in demanding process environments.

The tightening torques refer to the static media pressures specified above. Excessive torque can shorten the service life of the diaphragm. A tolerance of +10% applies to the tightening torques specified.

Installation & Maintenance

Self-Draining Installation

To ensure self-draining, the installation position should preferably have the actuator facing up. The angle of inclination should correspond to the angle of inclination of the pipeline (recommended according to ASME BPE). The marking on the port connection of the valve body serves as an orientation aid and must point upwards.

Explosion Hazard due to Electrostatic Charging

When used in ATEX/IECEx zones, there is a risk of explosion if electrostatically charged equipment discharges suddenly.

  • Ensure the actuator and valve body are properly grounded.
  • Only wipe the device with a damp or antistatic cloth.
  • For media with conductivity ≤100 pS/m, ensure flow velocity does not exceed 1 m/s or prevent the pipeline from running dry.
