BURKERT 20108823 Type 8653 AirLINE Field Module, IO-Link, IP65/67

Burkert Type 8653 (SKU 20108823) AirLINE Field module optimized for process automation. Features IO-Link interface, LC display diagnostics, IP65/67 protection, and 4 valve ports.

BURKERT 20108823 Type 8653 AirLINE Field Module, IO-Link, IP65/67

Burkert Type 8653 AirLINE Field valve island has been especially developed for applications in process automation. New diagnostic functions can be visualised at the LC display, both in clear text and as symbols. This facilitates assignment of the displayed messages and helps to save time during start-up and maintenance. Furthermore, the diagnostic message is also available in the controller, enabling a fast overview of the plant status. The hardware design has been optimised for installation close to the actuator. An intelligent installation system allows the valve island to be installed in a wide variety of positions, including straightforward installation on a standard DIN rail. Key pneumatic functions ensure increased process reliability; for instance, non-return valves in the exhaust air ducts prevent unplanned actuation due to pressure peaks.

Assembly Instructions

The housing with IP65/67 protection eliminates the need for further protective housing such as a control cabinet.

WARNING

Malfunctioning caused by electrostatic discharge. Electrostatic discharge at the device may cause malfunctioning.

  • Assembly on wall: Depending on the installation situation, use a short cable with a large cross-section to connect the device to the functional earth.
  • Assembly on standard rail: Depending on the installation situation, use a short cable with a large cross-section to connect the standard rail to the functional earth.

Assembly on wall using the bracket

  1. Push back the lever for unlocking the device and at the same time pull the device upwards out of the bracket.
  2. Securely attach the bracket using 4 suitable screws (e.g. M5 screws) to a suitable substrate (max. tightening torque 1.5 Nm for M5 screws).
  3. Slide the guide bars on the field module from the top to the bottom into the guide slot of the bracket until the locking mechanism engages audibly.

Assembly on standard rail

BURKERT 20108823 Burkert Type 8653 assembly on standard rail

  1. Push back the lever for unlocking the device and at the same time pull the device upwards out of the bracket.
  2. Using a slotted-head screwdriver, carefully turn the fastening screws on the bracket all the way anticlockwise.
  3. Position the bracket on the standard rail by tilting it upward slightly and then push it into position on the standard rail.
  4. Using a slotted-head screwdriver, carefully turn the fastening screws on the bracket all the way clockwise. The bracket is now secured to the standard rail by the clamping pieces.
  5. Slide the guide bars on the field module from the top to the bottom into the guide slot of the bracket until the locking mechanism engages audibly.
