BURKERT Type 3361 is an innovative electromotive 2-way globe control valve designed for demanding operating conditions. The electromotive actuator with a ball screw positions the control cone with the highest precision. It features a high positioning speed of up to 6 mm/s, reacting almost delay-free to process signals. The flow-optimized valve body can be equipped with up to 5 different valve seats for precise adaptation to customer needs. It offers a closed design with a robust surface, ensuring hygienic requirements for fast and residue-free cleaning. The device is highly resistant to harsh environmental conditions, impacts, and vibrations, featuring an IP65/IP67 degree of protection.

Safety Setting

In case of a power failure, devices equipped with the optional SAFEPOS energy-pack can move to an open, closed, or freely programmable position. Without the energy storage, the valve remains blocked in its last position.

  • North America: UL Listed for USA and Canada (UL 61010-1).
  • Drinking Water: Suitable for drinking water applications up to +85 °C.
  • Foods and Beverages: FDA compliant, USP Class VI biocompatible, EC Regulation 1935/2004, and China food GB Standards.
  • Special Media: Variants available for Oxygen and Hydrogen applications.

Flow Characteristics

The valve features an equal-percentage flow characteristic according to DIN EN 60534-2-4 (linear characteristic curve available on request). The theoretical rangeability is up to 50:1 depending on the seat size.

Operating Limits

In addition to the maximum operating pressures, the application range of Bürkert process valves is limited by the nominal pressure in accordance with the relevant standard.

Product Design and Assembly

The electromotive linear drive consists of a brushless DC motor, a gear, and a spindle system that transfers the force to the closing element. The integrated electronics are controlled either by standard signals (analogue) or via a fieldbus (digital).

The intelligent process valve Type 3361 offers options for process monitoring, valve diagnosis, and preventive maintenance. Internal measurements of the operating state are evaluated and issued as a warning or error message if necessary. A special feature of the globe control valve is the screwed-in valve seat which can be replaced to reduce the seat size.
