BURKERT 348383 Type 2031 2/2-Way Diaphragm Valve

BURKERT 348383 Type 2031 is a 2/2-way diaphragm valve with a pneumatic plastic actuator. The proven and robust actuator with a plastic or stainless steel valve body ensures reliable operation in hygienic or aggressive environments. The flow-optimised valve body with minimal dead space enables high volume flow rates and a wide range of possible applications. This specific model features Control Function A (normally closed), a PPS actuator, FKM piston seal, and a DN25 body size. It is CIP and SIP capable.

Functionality

Depending on the control function, spring force (CF A) or pneumatic pilot pressure (CF B, CF I) generates the closing force. A spindle connected to the actuator piston transfers the force to the compressor, which presses the diaphragm against the weir in the valve body.

  • Control function A (CF A): Pneumatically operated 2/2-way on/off valve. Bidirectional. Closed by spring force in rest position.

Operating Conditions

INFO

Protect the device against electromagnetic interference, UV rays and, when installed outdoors, the effects of climatic conditions.

  • Medium: Neutral gases and liquids, ultrapure, sterile, aggressive or abrasive media.
  • Control medium: Neutral gases, air.
  • Permissible ambient temperature (PPS actuator): +5 °C to +140 °C (for actuator size ≤80).

Installation Notes

  • Installation position: Any installation position, preferably with the actuator facing up.
  • Self-draining: The installer and the operator are responsible for ensuring self-draining. For pipelines, the inclination angles specified in the valid ASME BPE standard are recommended.
  • Alignment: For diaphragm size 6, the compressor ridge and the body weir must lie on top of each other. When correctly installed, the relief bore must be positioned at right angles to the line connections.
