BURKERT 361891 Type 6430 3/2-Way Servo-Assisted Solenoid Valve, Vacuum Variant

Burkert Type 6430 (SKU 361891) is a servo-assisted 3/2-way piston solenoid valve designed for reliable control of neutral media and technical vacuums. The specific model 361891 is a vacuum variant featuring a normally closed (NC) circuit function, a G 1/2 internal thread port, and a 12 mm orifice. It is constructed with a durable brass body and NBR seals, operating efficiently at 48V within a pressure range of -1 to 3 bar (vacuum up to 3 bar).

The Type 6430 family utilizes a maintenance-free, media-separated 3/2-way pivoted armature valve (Type 0331) as a pilot valve, providing increased operational safety. It is equipped with a service-friendly manual override for easy start-up and manual operation. When combined with a plug to DIN EN 175301-803 Form A, the valve satisfies the IP65 degree of protection.

Note on Vacuum Operation

The vacuum variant requires a minimum pressure difference of 0.5 bar for switching and is suitable for rough vacuum (atmospheric pressure 1013 hPa to 100 Pa / 1 mbar). For vacuum operation, connect the vacuum pump to connection 3 (R).

Installation & Maintenance

Installation Safety

  • Risk of injury from high pressure. Before loosening lines and valves, switch off the pressure and vent or empty the lines.
  • Risk of injury due to electric shock. Before working on the device or system, switch off the power supply and secure against reactivation.
  • Ensure that the valve body is not installed twisted and that seal material does not get into the device.

Manual Override

Caution! When the manual override is locked, the valve can no longer be electrically actuated.

Electrical Connection:

  • Always connect the protective conductor and check electrical continuity between the solenoid and body.
  • Screw the cable plug tight (approved types according to DIN EN 175301-803 Form A), ensuring a torque of 50–60 Ncm.

Maintenance:

  • During a long downtime, it is recommended to actuate at least 1–2 switching operations per day.
  • If the valve does not switch, check for short-circuit, inadequate power supply, soiled interior, or locked manual override.
