BURKERT 367674 Type 3361 Electromotive 2-Way Globe Control Valve

Bürkert Type 3361 electromotive 2-way globe control valve. Features highly precise dynamic control, weather/impact resistant design, and optional SAFEPOS energy-pack. Suitable for steam, gases, and liquids up to 25 bar.

BURKERT 367674 Type 3361 Electromotive 2-Way Globe Control Valve

Bürkert Type 3361 is an innovative electromotive 2-way globe control valve designed as the solution for control tasks under demanding operating conditions. The electromotive actuator with ball screw positions the control cone with highest precision. A unique feature is its high positioning speed up to 6 mm/s that reacts almost delay-free to process signals and that can be varied according to customer demands. Pressure variations or shocks in the medium are not transferred to the valve position.

Each flow optimised valve body can be equipped with up to 5 different valve seats for a precise adaptation according to customer needs. If necessary, the safety position can be approached by an optional energy storage in case of power failure. Actuator and valve are adapted perfectly to each other with closed design and robust surface. This ensures the hygienic requirements of fast and residue-free cleaning. Harsh environmental conditions are no problem for the Type 3361 because of the degree of protection IP65/IP67 and its high impact and vibration resistance.

Performance Specifications

Flow Characteristics

The globe control valve has different theoretical rangeabilities depending on the seat size. Equal-percentage flow characteristic according to DIN EN 60534-2-4 (linear characteristic curve on request).

Operating Limits

In addition to the maximum operating pressures, the application range of Bürkert process valves is limited by the nominal pressure in accordance with the relevant standard.

BURKERT 367674 Bürkert Type 3361 operating limits for medium temperature and pressure

Operating limits for seat seal

  • Stainless steel (metal seals): -40 °C to +230 °C (Leakage class III/IV). Hardened stainless steel is recommended for demanding process conditions such as cavitation or abrasive media.
  • PTFE (soft seals): -40 °C to +130 °C (Leakage class VI).
  • PEEK (soft seals): -10 °C to +230 °C (Leakage class VI).

Product Design and Assembly

The electromotive linear drive consists of a brushless DC motor, a gear and a spindle system that transfers the force to the closing element. The integrated electronics are controlled either by standard signals or via a fieldbus (digital). A positioner and a process controller are available as controller variants.

Maintenance and Service

Risk of injury from high pressure

Before working on the system or device, switch off the pressure and vent or drain lines.

Risk of injury due to improper replacement of spare parts

Spare parts may be replaced only by trained technicians and with the appropriate tools. Perform installation and maintenance work only in the isolated state. Devices with SAFEPOS energy-pack: Completely drain SAFEPOS energy-pack. Wait until LED illuminated ring goes out.

Replacing the Control Cone

  1. Set operating state MANUAL.
  2. Move valve into open position (at least 1/3 open).
  3. Switch off the supply voltage. Wait until LED illuminated ring goes out.
  4. Remove actuator from valve body.
  5. Knock out dowel pin using a suitable pin punch.
  6. Remove control cone.
  7. Attach new control cone to the spindle, align bores, support on a prism, and carefully knock in the dowel pin.
  8. Mount actuator on valve body.
  9. Apply supply voltage and run X.TUNE.

Replacing the Valve Seat

  1. Set operating state MANUAL and move valve into fully open position.
  2. Switch off the supply voltage and remove actuator from valve body.
  3. Select a suitable tool insert and screw it into the installation tool.
  4. Unscrew the valve seat using the installation tool and a wrench.
  5. Clean the thread and sealing surface in the valve body using compressed air.
  6. Grease the new valve seat thread with an approved lubricant (e.g., Klüberpaste UH1 96-402).
  7. Manually screw the fitted valve seat into the valve body thread, then tighten using a torque wrench according to specified torques (e.g., 20 Nm for DN 10/15, 40 Nm for DN 25).
  8. Mount actuator, apply supply voltage, and run X.TUNE.
