Overview

The FT14 is an SG iron bodied ball float steam trap featuring stainless steel working internals and an integral automatic air venting facility. Designed for light industrial and small process applications, the FT14 allows for in-line maintenance without disturbing the pipework. Its unique ball float and lever mechanism ensures a smooth, continuous discharge of condensate even under fluctuating loads.

Key Features

• Flexible Flow Orientation:
  • FT14 (R-L): Horizontal connections, flow from right to left.
  • FT14 (L-R): Horizontal connections, flow from left to right.
  • FT14V: Vertical connections, flow downwards.
• Capsule: Equipped with the high-performance BP99/32 capsule, suitable for use on superheated steam (up to 150°C superheat @ 0 bar g).
• Standards: Fully complies with the requirements of the European Pressure Equipment Directive 2014/68/EU.
• Optional Extras:
  • SLR (Steam Lock Release): Designated 'C' (e.g., FT14-C), provides a manually adjustable needle valve to release steam locks.
  • Strainer: Designated 'X' (e.g., FT14X), includes an integral stainless steel strainer screen to protect internals.

Sizes and Pipe Connections

Sizes: 1/2" (DN15), 3/4" (DN20), and 1" (DN25)

• Connections: Screwed BSP T Rp (ISO 7-1) or NPT.
• Installation: Must be installed with the direction of flow as indicated on the body. For horizontal models, ensure the float arm rises and falls vertically.

Capacities

Capacities shown below are based on condensate at saturation temperature. The internal thermostatic air vent automatically opens during start-up or heavy loads to provide additional capacity.

Cold Water Additional Capacity:

• For 4.5 bar units: Minimum of 50% increase over hot condensate figures.
• For 10 and 14 bar units: Minimum of 100% increase.
