Description

The M70i is a forged 316L stainless steel, three-piece body ball valve with ISO mounting as standard. It is designed generally in accordance with ASME BPE for liquid and gas utility duties and process support applications such as clean steam.

The M70i is intended for isolation duty and should not be used as a control valve.

Principal features

• True port design: internal diameter of the end connections and ball matches the connecting tubing to promote drainability.
• Forged construction: manufactured from high integrity ASTM A182 F316L.
• Low ferrite body and ends: 3% to 5% ferrite content to help prevent rouge.
• Orbital welding friendly: extended tube weld ends allow automatic orbital welding without valve disassembly.
• Automation ready: ISO 5211 mounting pad is standard.
• Lockable handle: spring-loaded handle can be locked in the chosen position.

Surface finish and available types

Standard internal surface finish is 0.5 micron Ra, 20 micro inch, compliant with ASME BPE SF1. Electropolished finish to 0.375 micron Ra, 15 micro inch, compliant with ASME BPE SF4, is available to special order. External finish is as forged and machined.

• Declaration of compliance EC1935:2004 for food contact materials

Seal materials comply with:

• FDA CFR Title 21, paragraph 177.1550
• USP Class VI
• ADI free requirements for material and manufacturing process

Each valve is end capped and sealed in a plastic bag to prevent ingress of dirt and contaminants.

Steam service note: cavity filler is not recommended for steam applications.

Pressure and temperature limits

The product must not be used in the prohibited region shown on the pressure / temperature graph.

• A to B: virgin PTFE TFM 1600
• A to C: mineral filled PTFE

For clamp connection valves, maximum operating conditions may be limited by the clamp selected.

Installation and welding

For full details, see the installation and maintenance instructions supplied with the product.

Only ETO models intended for welding should be welded. Clamp connection valves must not be welded, to avoid damage to soft parts.
