Yoshitake MS-2 Noiseless Heater Bronze

Yoshitake MS-2 noiseless heater for steam tank heating applications. Reduces noise efficiently. Features bronze construction, JIS Rc screwed connection, and 0.1-0.7 MPa pressure range. MS-4-13 stainless steel variant available.

Yoshitake MS-2 Noiseless Heater Bronze

Yoshitake MS-2 noiseless heater is designed to reduce noise when heating water with steam. By attaching it to the end of the steam piping and submerging it in the liquid tank, steam can be injected quietly and efficiently. The MS-2 features a simple, trouble-free structure and is manufactured from bronze. It is suitable for steam pressures from 0.1 to 0.7 MPa and is connected via JIS Rc threads. A cast stainless steel variant, the MS-4-13, is also available for corrosion resistance.

Nominal Size Selection Method

Yoshitake MS-2 nominal size selection chart for steam flow

  • Flow rate above is for reference only.

Formula for calculating the required nominal size

The steam volume "W" required to raise the temperature of "Q" amount of water by "B" degrees Celsius in "A" amount of time is calculated as follows:

W = (B × Q) / (500 × A)

Based on the steam volume (W kg/h) and steam pressure (P MPa) values obtained by the above formula, the appropriate nominal size is selected using the "Nominal size selection chart".

Noise Characteristics

  • Steam pressure

Yoshitake MS-2 noise characteristics at 0.3 MPa

  • Steam pressure

Yoshitake MS-2 noise characteristics at 0.5 MPa

  • The steam noise characteristics chart depends on factors such as the size and shape of the liquid tank and the position of the silencer. Use this chart as a reference.
  • The noise value is measured at 1 meter above the water surface.

Installation and Operation

Precautions for installation

  • The noiseless heater should be mounted 300mm or more from the tank’s walls and bottom. Vibration may occur in a tank by the flow of a liquid.
  • Use it within the maximum warning sound temperature limit. Vibration in a tank and piping occurs.
  • In order to obtain a result as planned, please fully utilize the nominal size selection chart.
  • There are various methods in attachment and please take into consideration the blow-off position with the size of a tank etc.
  • Submerge the product in the tank. If it is unavoidable, keep it as close to the water surface as possible.
  • VB-7 vacuum relief valve is recommended in the piping in order to prevent a backflow condition when the steam is stopped.

Precautions for operation

  • Do not touch the product by bare hands. Failure to follow this notice may cause burn or injury.
  • Submerge the product (In the case of Fig. 3, the tip of the pipe) in the water (liquid) in the tank. Steam may spout out and result in burns.
