Yoshitake TSD-7 and TSD-7F disc type steam traps with built-in bypass. Features ductile cast iron body, bimetal air vent, and four-function switching cock. Max pressure 1.0 MPa.

Yoshitake TSD-7 and TSD-7F are disc type steam traps featuring a built-in bypass, designed to meet a wide variety of needs in building facilities and industrial applications. The integrated bypass significantly reduces piping and construction costs by eliminating the need for a separate bypass line. Utilizing a bimetal ring, these steam traps effectively solve the air-binding problem by ensuring a smooth discharge of cold condensate and air at the start of operation, which allows steam equipment to start up efficiently.
The traps are constructed with a durable ductile cast iron body and stainless steel internal components. The valve disc and seat undergo a special heat treatment for extended durability. A distinctive switching cock allows operators to easily change between four operational modes (STOP, BY-PASS, TRAP, and TEST) using a simple wrench, streamlining maintenance and operational checks without being affected by back pressure.

Sizing Recommendation
In designing a system, select a steam trap with a sufficient safety factor (four to five times the regular level). For example, if a discharge capacity of 100 kg/h is required, select a steam trap capable of discharging 400 to 500 kg/h.

(∆P: Working differential pressure MPa. The discharge capacity shown on the chart is the maximum value.)

| Nominal Size | d | H (mm) | Weight (kg) |
|---|---|---|---|

| 20A | Rc 3/4 | 109 | 2.6 |
| 25A | Rc 1 | 115 | 2.7 |

| Nominal Size | L (mm) | Weight (kg) |

| 15A | 156 | 4.1 |
| 20A | 160 | 4.6 |
| 25A | 160 | 5.7 |

All steam traps are set at the "STOP" position when delivered. In order to switch the cock, be sure that each mark (▲) of the functions meets the mark (▼) on the indicator accurately. If not, the product does not function correctly.
Safety Caution
Do not switch the position of the cock during disassembly. It is dangerous because steam may blow out.

| Trouble | Cause | Remedy |
|---|---|---|
| Condensate not discharged | 1. The cock is positioned at "STOP." 2. Blockage in a discharge hole of valve seat. 3. Strainer is clogged. 4. Damage from abnormal pressure rising. 5. Steam locking. | 1. Switch the cock to "TRAP." 2. Disassemble and clean the valve seat. 3. Disassemble and clean the strainer. 4. Replace the product. 5. Change the piping system layout. |
| Continuous blow-off | 1. The cock is positioned at "BY-PASS." 2. Foreign substances stuck on disc/seat. 3. Scratches or wear on disc/seat. 4. Back pressure exceeds permissible value. 5. Pressure is less than minimum working pressure. | 1. Switch the cock to "TRAP." 2. Disassemble and clean these parts. 3. Disassemble and replace these parts. 4. Keep back pressure within limits. 5. Replace with an appropriate model. |
| Outside leakage | 1. Joint loose between cock and valve seat. 2. Joint loose between cover and valve seat. 3. Damage from freezing or water hammer. | 1. Replace gaskets and assemble. 2. Replace gaskets and assemble. 3. Replace the product. |
| No-load operation | 1. Scratches or wear on disc/seat. 2. Foreign substances stuck between disc and seat. 3. Used outdoors in rainy conditions. | 1. Replace the parts. 2. Disassemble and clean. 3. Equip product with an optional rain cover. |
