BURKERT 20061874 Type 8652 AirLINE Valve Island with Industrial Ethernet

BURKERT Type 8652 AirLINE valve island (SKU 20061874) optimised for process automation. Features 12 valve ports, Industrial Ethernet, ATEX/IECEx Zone 2 approval, and LC display diagnostics.

BURKERT 20061874 Type 8652 AirLINE Valve Island with Industrial Ethernet

BURKERT Type 8652 AirLINE valve island (SKU 20061874) has been especially developed for process automation requirements. New diagnostic functions can be visualised on the LC display, both in clear text as well as symbols. This makes it easy to relate to the shown messages and helps to save time during start-up and maintenance. Furthermore, the diagnostic message is also available at the controller, enabling a fast overview of the plant status. The hardware is optimised for installation at the bottom of the control cabinet, though installation on a standard rail is also possible. Key pneumatic functions ensure increased process reliability; for instance, check valves in the exhaust air ducts make sure there is no unplanned actuation due to pressure peaks.

Key features include safety-related shut-off of valves (SIA variant), higher plant availability with PROFINET S2 (system redundancy), and EX-variants suitable for ATEX / IECEx Zone 2, CCC, and cURus HazLoc CL I, II, III Div 2 environments.

AirLINE Quick

AirLINE Quick considerably reduces the use of components in the control cabinet. With the AirLINE Quick Adapter, the valve terminal is adapted directly to the control cabinet floor or control cabinet wall.

Advantages:

  • Reduced space requirement in the control cabinet.
  • Makes it possible to use more compact control cabinets.
  • Reduced installation effort due to hose connections directly at the bottom of the control cabinet.

Circuit Functions

The Type 8652 supports various circuit functions depending on the installed valves. The standard configuration for SKU 20061874 includes 5/2-way monostable WWH valves.

Circuit functionDescription
C (CF C)3/2-way solenoid valve, servo-controlled, normally closed
D (CF D)2 × 3/2-way solenoid valve, servo-controlled, normally open
H (CF H)5/2-way solenoid valve, servo-controlled. Pressure applied via port (1), therefore one of the two ports (2) or (4) is under pressure.
L (CF L)5/3-way solenoid valve, in middle position all ports locked
M (CF M)5/3-way solenoid valve, in middle position ports 2 and 4 ventilated
N (CF N)5/3-way solenoid valve, in middle position ports 2 and 4 exhausted
Z (CF Z)5/2-way solenoid valve, impulse variant with 2 coils

Safety Instructions for EX Areas

  • Danger from voltage: Before working on the device or system, switch off the power supply and secure against reactivation.
  • In an existing explosive atmosphere, the connection terminals for 24 V supply, SIA, EVS, and digital inputs may only be plugged in or unplugged when the power is switched off.
  • The use of the Hot Swap function is prohibited in an existing explosive atmosphere unless it can be proven by suitable test equipment that no explosive atmosphere is present for a certain period.
  • Ensure that the transient protection is set to a value that does not exceed 140% of the peak rated voltage value at the supply terminals to the equipment.
