BURKERT 20063220 Type 2875 Direct-Acting Proportional Valve

Burkert Type 2875 (Model 20063220) direct-acting 2/2-way proportional valve. Features a 2.0 mm orifice, brass body, FKM seal, and flange connection for 0-25 bar pressure ranges.

BURKERT 20063220 Type 2875 Direct-Acting Proportional Valve

Burkert Type 2875 (Model 20063220) is a direct-acting solenoid control valve used as the regulating unit in control loops. Due to an elastomeric seat seal, the valve closes tight with an integrated shut-off function up to the DN specific nominal pressure. The plunger of the valve is assembled frictionless, which leads to an extraordinary adjustment characteristic. This valve is particularly suitable for demanding control tasks including high control ranges and dry gases.

Sub-critical $p_2 > \frac{p_1}{2}$$= Q \sqrt{\frac{\rho}{1000\Delta p}}$$= \frac{Q_N}{514} \sqrt{\frac{T_1\rho_N}{p_2\Delta p}}$

TIP

The dimensioning of the nominal diameter is very important for proportional valves to function properly within the application. The nominal diameter must be selected so that the desired flow range is achieved and, when the valve is fully open, a sufficient portion of the total pressure drop occurs across the valve (Reference value: $\Delta p_{valve} \approx$ 25% of the total pressure drop).

Product Operation

Valve control takes place through a PWM signal (pulse-width modulation). The duty cycle of the PWM signal determines the coil current and hence the position of the plunger. The Bürkert control electronics Type 8605 converts an analogue signal to a reference value corresponding to the valve type PWM signal and provides additional functions such as temperature compensation, ramp function, and the adjustment of minimum and maximum duty cycle/coil current.

Explosion-Protected Coil (Type 072x) Safety Notes

When equipped with the optional Type 072x ATEX/IECEx coil, the valve and coil form a closed system.

Explosion Hazard

When used in potentially explosive areas, opening the system while in operation poses an explosion hazard. Do not attempt to dismantle the system while it is running.

High Temperature

The solenoid coil becomes very hot during continuous operation. Only touch the device with protective gloves after it has been operating for an extended period.

Fuel Dispenser Application

When the system is used as a Category 2 device for controlling petrol in fuel dispensers, only valve bodies made of metal (brass, aluminium, or stainless steel) ensure the intended safety. The closed system must be free of air and oxygen.
