Product Overview

The FTGS14 is a ball float steam trap featuring an austenitic stainless steel body and stainless steel internals. It includes an integral automatic air venting facility via the BP99/32 capsule. The trap is designed for maintenance without disturbing the pipework, thanks to its screwed connection design and accessible internals.

Key Features

  • Corrosion Resistance: Austenitic stainless steel body and internals.
  • Durable Cover: SG iron cover with electroless nickel plating for increased erosion resistance.
  • Integral Air Vent: Automatic air venting for quick start-up.
  • Versatile Orientation: Available for horizontal flow (R-L or L-R) and vertical flow (FTGS14V).

Sizes and Pipe Connections

Available sizes: 1/2", 3/4", and 1". Connections: Screwed BSP (ISO 7-1) or NPT.

Pressure and Temperature Limits

The FTGS14 is designed for PN16 conditions.

Optional Extras

  • Manually adjustable needle valve (SLR): Designated as 'C' (e.g., FTGS14-C). Provides a steam lock release feature.
  • Integral strainer screen: Designated as 'X' (e.g., FTGS14X).

Installation and Maintenance

The FTGS14 must be installed with the direction of flow as indicated on the body. The arrow on the nameplate must point downwards to ensure the float arm rises and falls vertically.

Spare Parts

Available spare parts include:

  • Maintenance kit (Main valve assembly, gaskets, air vent)
  • Main valve assembly with float
  • Air vent assembly
  • SLR unit (for 'C' models)
