Yoshitake SU-50H ductile cast iron strainer featuring a maximum pressure of 2.0 MPa, suitable for water and oil at up to 80°C. Standard 60-mesh stainless steel screen.

Yoshitake SU-50H is a high-performance ductile cast iron strainer primarily designed for removing dust and alien matter from cooling and industrial water systems. As the flagship model of the SU-50 series (which also includes the SU-50, SU-50S, and SU-50SS), the SU-50H is engineered to handle a maximum operating pressure of 2.0 MPa and fluid temperatures up to 80°C. These strainers are equipped with a standard 60-mesh stainless steel screen and utilize an NBR O-ring sealed cover to ensure reliable, leak-free performance. While the SU-50H utilizes a standard bolted cover with a JIS 20KRF flanged connection, the SU-50S and SU-50SS variants feature a quick-open davit design, allowing operators to easily disassemble the cover and clean the screen without completely removing heavy bolts. This product family supports versatile integration for heavy-duty industrial piping networks.

The nominal size of the strainer should typically be the same as that for the piping. If the nominal size of the strainer is smaller than the piping, the pressure loss may increase significantly.

Severe Hazard
Remove all pressure within the product, piping, and equipment before disassembly and inspection. In case of hot fluid, cool down the product body so you can touch it with your bare hand before disassembly. Residual pressure can result in severe injuries or scalding.
| Condition of failure | Causes | Measures and treatment |
|---|---|---|
| Fluid does not flow. | 1. Screen is clogged. 2. Stop valves at either end are closed. | 1. Disassemble the strainer and clean screen. 2. Open the stop valve(s). |
| Loss of pressure is great. | 1. Screen is clogged. 2. Pressure gauge is out of order. 3. Nominal size is too small for actual flow volume. | 1. Disassemble and clean screen. 2. Exchange the pressure gauge. 3. Use a strainer with a larger nominal size. |
| Alien matter is not removed. | 1. Screen is damaged. | 1. Disassemble and exchange screen. (Do not open quick valves immediately to prevent water hammer damage). |
| Cover cannot be removed. | 1. Inside is a vacuum. 2. Cover and body are stuck together. | 1. Break the vacuum inside the pipe. 2. See removal instructions. |
| Outer leakage occurs. | 1. O-ring is damaged. 2. Cover is not assembled properly. | 1. Install a new O-ring. 2. Assemble properly. |
