Yoshitake SY-5 Y-Type Strainer 2.0 MPa

Yoshitake SY-5 Y-type strainer featuring a ductile cast iron body and stainless steel screen. Max pressure 2.0 MPa, max temperature 220℃. Suitable for steam, air, water, and oil.

Yoshitake SY-5 Y-Type Strainer 2.0 MPa

Yoshitake SY-5 is a versatile, compact, lightweight, and economical Y-type strainer. It features a high-flow-rate marine type design with the largest possible filtration area to minimize flow rate decreases caused by clogging. The strainer is ideal for protecting pressure reducing valves, temperature regulators, steam traps, and other pipeline equipment.

Features

  • Versatile, compact, lightweight, and economical.
  • High-flow-rate marine type with maximum filtration area in view of decrease in flow rate caused by clogging.

The screen removes dust, scale, and other foreign matter out of the fluid flowing from the inlet port of the strainer.

Pressure Loss and Sizing

When selecting the nominal diameter of the pipe, consider the standard flow velocity for the fluid kind to avoid noise, vibration, and excessive pressure drops.

Water, Oil2 ~ 4 m/s
Steam20 ~ 40 m/s

Installation and Maintenance

WARNING

  • Installation Direction: Confirm if the direction of fluid flow matches the inlet and outlet ports of the product. If installed in the opposite direction, it will not function properly.
  • Maintenance Space: Reserve adequate space for the maintenance and cleaning of the screen.
  • Piping Stress: Do not transmit unreasonable load, bending, or vibration to the strainer to prevent leakage.
  • Scalding Hazard: In case high-temperature fluid is applied, keep bare hands off the strainer.
  • Disassembly: Completely discharge internal pressure from the lines and cool the valve down before disassembling to clean the screen. Always replace the gasket with a new one during reassembly.
