Yoshitake TA-16 Series Air Vent Valve

The Yoshitake TA-16 series is a compact stainless steel air vent valve essential for air-conditioning piping systems, building equipment, and industrial setups. Air mixed in piping leads to a decline in heat effectiveness, noise production, or equipment corrosion. The TA-16 series discharges air automatically and offers high durability with excellent corrosion resistance. The series includes the standard TA-16, the TA-16L equipped with an L-shaped hose joint, and the TA-16CVA/TA-16CVS models which feature integrated check valves to prevent outside air from being drawn in during pressure drops.

Operational Description

  1. After installation, air exists in the product, and the float [9] is lowered by its own weight. The valve disc [5] is kept open by the lever [7], allowing air to be discharged outside by the internal pressure of the system.
  2. When air is discharged, water flows into the product, making the float [9] rise due to buoyancy. The force keeping the valve disc open is lost, and the valve disc [5] is closed by the spring [6] and fluid pressure.
  3. When air bubbles are generated in the system and gather in the product, the inside water level drops. The float loses buoyancy, lowering to open the valve disc [5] and discharge air.
  4. Repeating processes 2 and 3, air in the system is continuously removed.

Installation Precautions

  • Remove foreign matter and scale from the lines before installation.
  • Install the product vertically (tolerance angle 5°) where air is likely to gather.
  • Install a stop valve (cock or gate valve) at the inlet side for maintenance and inspection.
  • Attach a joint and hose to the outlet and lead them to a drain ditch to prevent property damage or burns in case of valve leakage.
  • Make sure the end of the piping or tube on the outlet has a 50mm clearance over the flood level.

High Temperature Warning

Do not touch the product with bare hands in case of high-temperature fluid to prevent severe burns.

Operating Note

A small amount of water may blow out with air during the initial operation. This is not a product failure. If the piping drops to negative pressure, the TA-16 and TA-16L may draw in outside air. Use the CVA or CVS models if preventing air intake is required.

Synthetic rubber parts are consumable. Recommended replacement is 3 years for the Valve Disc set and 5 years for the Gasket.
