Yoshitake TA-16CVA Stainless Steel Air Vent Valve

Yoshitake TA-16CVA compact stainless steel air vent valve for cold and hot water. Features a fluororubber valve disc, built-in check valve, and 0.01-1.0 MPa working pressure.

Yoshitake TA-16CVA Stainless Steel Air Vent Valve

Yoshitake TA-16CVA air vent valve is essential for air-conditioning piping systems, building equipment, and industrial applications. Air mixed in the piping leads to a decline in heat-effectiveness, noise production, and corrosion of equipment. The TA-16CVA series is constructed from stainless steel (except for the valve disc, gasket, and check valve joints) offering high durability and corrosion resistance. It features an angle-type check valve joint that prevents the valve from sucking in outside air under negative pressure, effectively stopping water level drops in piping when the equipment is inactive.

Features

  • Stainless Steel Construction: All main parts (body, cover, float) are made of stainless steel for high resistance to corrosion.
  • Stable Capacity: A wide working pressure range (0.01 to 1.0 MPa) ensures stable exhaust capacity.
  • Space-Saving: The compact body allows for straightforward installation in tight spaces.
  • High Sealability: No leakage thanks to the FKM (fluororubber) valve disc.
  • Air Suction Prevention: Built-in check valve joints (angle type for CVA, straight type for CVS) restrict outside air from entering the system.

Operational Description

Yoshitake TA-16CVA operational sequence diagram

  1. After installation, air exists in the product, and the float is lowered by its own weight. In this condition, since the valve disc is kept open by the lever, air is discharged outside by the internal pressure of the system.
  2. When air is discharged, hot or cold water flows into the product to make the float come up on buoyancy, and the force that keeps the valve disc open through the lever is lost. The valve disc is closed by the spring and system pressure.
  3. When air bubbles are generated in the system and collected into the product, the inside water level drops. The float loses buoyancy and opens the valve disc to discharge air.
  4. The operation then goes back to process [2]. By repeating processes [2] and [3], air in the system is continuously removed.

Piping and Installation

Installation Guidelines

  • Remove foreign matter and scales from the lines and install the valve vertically (tolerance angle 5°) where air is likely to gather.
  • Install a stop valve (cock or gate valve) at the inlet side of the air vent valve to facilitate maintenance.
  • Ensure the end of the piping or tube from the product outlet leaves a space of at least 50mm over the flood level.

Precautions Before Use

  • Make sure to attach a joint and hose to the outlet of the product, leading them to a drain ditch. High-temperature fluid leakage can cause burns or property damage.
  • There might be a possibility of leakage caused by scale inside the pipe, so ensure the point of the outlet side does not allow backflow to the drainage channel.

Troubleshooting

TroubleCauseRemedy
No air dischargeStop valve on inlet side is kept closed.Open the stop valve fully.
Internal piping pressure is more than the appropriate value.Lower the internal piping pressure, or replace the valve with a high-pressure model.
Air accumulates too slowly.Install the valve on a place where air is easy to accumulate.
Water blowoutForeign substances exist on the valve disc and seat.Remove and clean the valve disc and seat.
The float is damaged and cannot work properly.Replace the float.
External leakageDamage or deformation of the body or cover due to abnormal pressure rise.Replace the product.
Gasket is damaged.Replace the gasket.
Sucking in outside airForeign substances exist on the check valve.Remove foreign substances.
