Burkert Type 8652 AirLINE pneumatic valve island with LC display, AirLINE Quick adapter, ATEX/IECEx Zone 2 approval, and up to 24 valve slots.

Burkert Type 8652 AirLINE valve island has been especially developed for process automation requirements. Diagnostic functions can be visualised on the LC display in clear text and symbols, simplifying message allocation and saving time during start-up and maintenance. Diagnostic messages are also available at the controller for a fast overview of the plant status. The hardware is optimised for installation at the bottom of the control cabinet or on a standard rail. Key pneumatic functions, such as check valves in the exhaust air ducts, prevent unplanned actuation due to pressure peaks.

The Type 8652 supports multiple circuit functions, including standard and SIA (safety-related shut-off) variants:
Explosion Protection Safety
In explosive atmospheres, the Hot Swap function is prohibited. Connection terminals for 24 V power, SIA, EVS, and digital inputs must only be connected or disconnected when the power is switched off, unless the absence of an explosive atmosphere is proven.

Industrial Ethernet (PROFINET IO, EtherNet/IP, Modbus TCP, EtherCAT, CC-Link IE Field Basic) or PROFINET S2 uses Interface X1 and X2 RJ45.
To use the Hot Swap function, always observe a minimum distance to the front edge of the control cabinet when installing the valve island.

The digital inputs are supplied (24 V) by the electronic module. Current is limited to a maximum of 30 mA per digital input. Standard 3-wire sensors, 2-wire sensors (10–30 V), and mechanical limit switches can be used. The module provides open-circuit detection with 2-wire sensors and short-circuit detection with 3-wire sensors.
Type 6534 valves are equipped with additional connection terminals. A valve circuit can therefore be interrupted by an external switch. Manual override is not required for these valve variants. To use the shut-off function, connect the terminal to a potential-free contact (mechanical switch or relay).
Connections for module-based safety shutdown use a pluggable 12-pin spring-loaded terminal. Terminal 1 corresponds to valve unit 1, Terminal 2 to valve unit 2, etc. The required switching capacity of the contact is 1.5 A / 24 V DC.
The following illustration shows a network with the example of AirLINE Type 8652 with Industrial Ethernet variant as the master valve terminal and various AirLINE Type 8652 with büS variant as slave valve terminals.

Bürkert Communicator Software: The universal tool simplifies the configuration and parametrisation of devices equipped with a digital CANopen-based interface. It provides a complete overview of cyclic process values and acyclic diagnostic data, enabling firmware updates and backup/restoring of device configurations.
Fieldbus Gateway Type ME43: Available for Industrial Ethernet, Profibus DP, CANopen/büS, and PROFINET S2. The gateway modules must be configured using the Bürkert Communicator software before system start-up.
