Yoshitake GP-1010TS Pressure Reducing Valve for Air and Gases

Yoshitake GP-1010TS is a pilot-operated pressure reducing valve designed for air and non-corrosive gases. As a specialized variant within the GP-1000T series, the GP-1010TS features stainless steel trim parts (piston, cylinder, and valve) and a JIS Rc screwed connection. It provides reliable control for small to large flow rates in building utility systems, air-conditioning systems, and factory applications.

The valve offers significantly improved workability and durability over conventional pressure reducing valves. It achieves zero valve seat leakage due to the refined design of its sliding parts and features a simple, robust internal structure.

Stainless Steel Trim

The GP-1010TS model is explicitly built with stainless steel trim components (piston, cylinder, and valve) for improved corrosion resistance and durability compared to the standard GP-1010T.

Selection Charts

Specifications Selection Chart

Yoshitake GP-1010TS specifications selection chart

Find the intersection point of the inlet and reduced pressures. The valve is suitable within range (A). If the intersection point lies in range (B), maximum performance cannot be obtained.

  • Shut-off pressure raise: 0.02 MPa or less
  • Offset: 0.03 MPa or less (Setting pressure: 0.05-0.1 MPa); 0.05 MPa or less (Setting pressure: 0.1-0.9 MPa)

Pressure Characteristics Chart

This chart shows the variation in reduced pressure when the inlet pressure of 1.0 MPa is changed between 0.3 MPa and 1.0 MPa while the reduced pressure is set at 0.1 MPa.

Operation

Yoshitake GP-1010TS operation cross section

The valve reduces pressure by throttling. It is composed of a main valve and main valve seat for throttling, and an adjusting spring, diaphragm, pilot valve, and piston for pressure sensing and activation.

  1. When the compression of the adjusting spring is released, the spring closes the main valve and pilot valve. Inlet pressure is applied to the downside of the main valve and, via the strainer and inlet pressure passage, to the downside of the pilot valve.
  2. Turning the adjusting screw clockwise compresses the spring, flexing the diaphragm to open the pilot valve.
  3. Inlet pressure enters the upside of the piston via the pilot valve, overriding the pressure on the downside of the main valve and the main valve spring, which opens the main valve and allows fluid flow.
  4. Reduced pressure is led to the diaphragm chamber, balancing the adjusting spring load to control the pilot valve travel.
  5. This changes the fluid flow rate to the piston's upside, controlling the main valve travel to maintain appropriate reduced pressure.

Installation

Installation Precautions

  • Hold the valve with lifting equipment during piping due to its heavy weight to prevent injury.
  • Install a strainer (Recommendation: 80-100 mesh) at the valve inlet side to ensure correct pressure control.
  • Install a safety valve at the outlet side to protect equipment.
  • Install pressure gauges at both inlet and outlet sides for correct pressure adjustment.
  • Keep the flow velocity in the pipe below 15 m/s or less when the pressure reducing ratio is large by installing a reducer.

Yoshitake GP-1010TS installation space requirements

Provide adequate space on the top and bottom of the valve so it can be easily disassembled and inspected. For nominal sizes 15A to 25A, provide 310 mm (A) and 135 mm (B) clearance for the spring type.

Operating Procedure

  1. Close the stop valves before and after the valve, and blow off fluid to remove foreign matter via the by-pass line.
  2. Slowly open the inlet stop valve and adjust the outlet stop valve travel so a little fluid flows.
  3. Loosen the lock nut and slowly turn the adjusting screw (clockwise to increase, counterclockwise to reduce) to achieve the desired pressure.
  4. Slowly open the outlet stop valve and readjust as necessary.
  5. Tighten the lock nut after adjustment.

Maintenance Note

Foreign matter and scales in a pipe cause most pressure reducing valve problems. Completely discharge internal pressure and cool the valve before disassembly.
